Tampa soldier offers Bucs’ “shout out” from Germany

article Tampa soldier offers Bucs' "shout out" from Germany
As a lifelong Mets fan, I know what it is like to root for a team on the wrong side of the win-loss ledger. So I feel a kinship with Army Staff Sgt. Joshua Withers, of Tampa, who is currently stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany with the 21st Theater Sustainment Command. Withers, in a video provided by the Defense Video and Imagery Distribution System, offers a “shout out” from Germany to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 0 and 3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who own the NFL’s second-worst point differential, having been outscored by 50 so far. “Team 21st is first in support, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is always first in football,” Withers says in his shout out, part of a series the folks at DVIDS are putting together for troops to acknowledge their favorite sports teams. Perhaps they don’t get the sports section in Germany. But who am I to talk? I’m wearing a Mets’ hat as I write this.
