One of the best parts of my job is having people share history with me. Over the weekend, I had the great pleasure of listening to Dick Cole tell me what it was like to be Jimmy Doolittle’s co-pilot on the raid over Tokyo.
Now the Florida’s West Coast Region of the American Red Cross is looking for veterans to sit down and tell their stories in front of a camera.
The Red Cross, in partnership with the Veterans History Project, a program of the Library of Congress, is seeking veterans to participate in this project. The program captures firsthand accounts of veterans.
There are only two qualifications. You have to be a veteran and you can no longer be serving.
Civilians who served in support of a US war effort in a professional capacity are also welcome to participate.
If you are a veteran or know veterans who would like to share their stories, please contact Florida’s West Coast Region of the American Red Cross’ Service to the Armed Forces Specialist, at 813-348-4820 for details
